Living Not shrinking
Sharing honest experiences with eating disorders to break the isolation, build community, and remind you that you are always worthy of help and recovery.
You are never alone on this journey
When I was struggling with an eating disorder, I felt completely isolated. I convinced myself I wasn't 'sick enough' to deserve support, feeling like nobody truly understood the silent battle going on inside my head. Living Not Shrinking was created to be the space I desperately needed back then. Also #changethestereotype is a message I want to get across.
Another crucial topic is the importance of community and connection in recovery. Finding a supportive network can be transformative, as it fosters understanding and empathy among those who have faced similar challenges. By sharing our stories and experiences, we can break the stigma surrounding eating disorders and create a safe environment for healing. Together, we can empower one another to embrace our true selves and encourage open conversations about mental health, reminding everyone that they are not alone in their struggles.
Here, I share raw, unfiltered insights about how eating disorders take control of daily life and how we can reclaim our freedom. Beyond raising awareness, I'm also running the London Marathon for Mind to support vital mental health services. Together, we can foster understanding and hope.
Another crucial aspect of this journey is the importance of community support. Connecting with others who have experienced similar struggles can be incredibly empowering. By sharing our stories and listening to one another, we create a safe space for healing and growth. Support groups and workshops can provide the tools needed to combat isolation and foster resilience. Together, we can build a network of compassion and understanding that reinforces the message that no one has to face their battles alone.
Every step of my London Marathon training is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Mind. Eating disorders are severe, life-threatening illnesses, but with the right support, full recovery is possible. Join me in making a difference for everyone battling mental health challenges.
